Notes and settings

Notes, images, character settings and voice transcription drafts are stored inside the app on your iPhone. Nothing is sent automatically to servers run by the developer. MemoPale contains no advertising or analytics SDKs.

Voice transcription

MemoPale uses the microphone and Apple's on-device speech recognition. Recorded audio is not saved to app files or sent to the developer. If on-device recognition is unavailable, MemoPale does not switch to cloud recognition. You can change permissions in the iPhone Settings app.

Photos and pasting

Images you choose are imported into notes or characters. If copied web content does not include the image itself, pasting may connect to the image's source, which receives network information such as your IP address. The app does not send cookies or saved credentials.

Sync with a PC (beta)

If you connect a PC, notes, images and character settings sync directly and encrypted over your local network, only when you start a sync. Connection details are stored in the iPhone Keychain and can be removed on the sync screen. Data is also stored on the PC. The PC app includes read-only files and tools that let external tools you choose, including AI tools, read your notes and images. MemoPale itself never sends your notes or images to AI services.

Purchases and restoring

Premium is purchased and restored through the Apple App Store. The app checks Apple-verified purchase information on your device to decide which features are available and may contact Apple's services to confirm purchase status. The developer never receives payment information or sends purchase history to its own servers.

Backups and sharing

An exported backup contains notes, images, character settings, display settings and voice drafts. You choose where to share or save it, and it is then handled by that destination. Depending on your iPhone settings, app data may be included in iOS backups. Purchases are not part of note backups or PC sync; they are restored from your Apple Account purchase history.

Deletion and retention

After you delete a note, images and backups kept for undo and recovery may remain. You can check usage and clean up unused images and old update backups in Backup & Recovery. Data synced to a PC, exported backups and iOS backups are managed and deleted in their own locations. Before deleting the app, make sure you have the backup you need.
